“ADDICTED TO LOVE” EVE DE HAAN & SARA POPE
February 9-March 11
Exploring the complexities of love, Eve de Haan and Sara Pope have created 30 works to provoke self-reflection. These two UK-based artists possess distinct visual styles: De Haan presents her pieces in neon installations while Pope showcases her works through hyperreal paintings. Both have had their art exhibited both nationally and internationally at solo shows, group shows, and art fairs. Through these feminine lenses, ADDICTED TO LOVE focuses on beauty, desire, perfection, generosity and compassion to further emphasize the meanings attached to love.
Eve and Sara are determined to narrow the gap between genders in the realm of art. In London's National Gallery Collection, a mere 1% is dedicated to pieces from female artists. This inequity is demonstrated further by a recent BBC survey which revealed that over 8 out of 10 people could not name more than three women painters.
