“THE BOOK OF HOV”

OPENS JULY 14 2023

The Brooklyn Public Library's Central Branch hosts "The Book of HOV," an homage to Shawn "JAY-Z" Carter, celebrating his transformative path from the Marcy Projects in Brooklyn to his current status as a global icon.

This comprehensive multimedia display delves into JAY-Z's worldwide influence as a recording artist, a groundbreaker, a business mogul, and a humanitarian.

"The Book of HOV" showcases an extensive collection of artifacts including original music masters, unseen photographs, famous performance outfits, notable awards and honors, as well as videos and mementos from all aspects of JAY-Z's illustrious career. Through "The Book of HOV" exhibition, we aim to offer an intimate glimpse into the life of a Hall of Fame lyricist and entertainer, a triumphant entrepreneur, and an impactful philanthropist who continues to draw wisdom from his journey to the top. And, of course, we celebrate the neighborhood that served as the launchpad for his incredible voyage.
