GUCCI ANCORA

It’s a story of everything, again, but this time expressed through joy.
— Sabato De Sarno

To mark his inaugural fashion show for the House, held on the vibrant streets of Brera, Creative Director Sabato De Sarno introduces the first installment of the Gucci Prospettive series, emphasizing the profound interplay between art and fashion.

Kicking off the creative journey, curator Stefano Collicelli Cagol, PhD, who also serves as the director of the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato, begins with heartfelt words, stating, "This is a love letter to Milan and its art." These sentiments set the stage for the showcase of artworks that follow Sabato's initial manifesto. Together, they have meticulously chosen artists who weave together fragments of the city's rich cultural and creative tapestry, spanning from the post-war era to the contemporary moment.

From the expressive slashed canvases of Lucio Fontana to the evocative works of Pietro Agostini, Riccardo Banfi, Mirko Albini, and Nicola Guiducci, who capture the essence of Milanese nightlife, to the thought-provoking contributions of Sara Leghissa, Vincenzo Agnetti, and Giulia Niccolai, the exhibited pieces eloquently narrate Milan as a realm of both beauty and sensuality. Beyond the confines of conventional narratives, these artworks invite us to envision fresh dimensions and new facets of our own selves.

The launch of this artistic endeavor unfolds in a temporary gallery located at Via Fiori Chiari 5 in Brera, Milan—an area renowned as the haven for artists within the city. The featured works of Cristiano Rizzo, Martino Santori, Noura Tafeche, and Valerio Eliogabalo Torrisi have been handpicked by Sabato De Sarno, in collaboration with the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, where these talented individuals honed their skills. This captivating exhibition is accessible to the public until September 23, 2023, offering a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the artistic soul of Milan.
