“AM GOLD” SCOTT LISTFIELD
Scott Listfield, a Los Angeles-based artist known for his acrylic paintings of a lone astronaut exploring unfamiliar landscapes, will present his first solo exhibition with Harman Projects titled "AM Gold." While his previous works were focused on dystopian futures, Listfield's newest exhibition offers a highly autobiographical journey into the artist's past, incorporating music that has defined his life.
By incorporating music in his paintings, Listfield creates a body of work that pays homage to the songs that have sparked strong, tangible memories of his past. He describes it as "My own story told through music. It's AM Gold. It's the songs from my past, in the present."
The exhibition not only showcases Listfield's favorite musical acts, songs, and albums, but also physical artifacts of music such as boomboxes, album liner notes, cassette tapes, gig posters, and the original iPod. These artifacts serve as reminders of how our music consumption has evolved over the years, while music has remained an important part of our lives.
