“NURTURED BY NATURE” CAMILLA D’ERRICO

I am thrilled to invite you to my upcoming solo show Nurtured by Nature. It holds a special place in my heart as I’ve found solace and healing amidst nature’s embrace in the Pacific Northwest. In this show, I pour my heart and soul into depicting the love and appreciation I feel for the captivating wildlife and breathtaking landscapes of my own backyard.

On Saturday, August 26th, Corey Helford Gallery in the heart of downtown Los Angeles is set to showcase a fresh collection by the renowned Pop-Surrealist artist, Camilla d'Errico, entitled "Nurtured by Nature," in its premier gallery space.

In her two-decade-long journey, the Italo-Canadian visionary has carved a niche in the Pop Surrealism's New Figurative wave. Her genius lies in blending manga influences with western motifs and surrealist nuances, tying them together with a rich tapestry of emotions. d'Errico’s artistry transcends borders and cultures, resonating with a diverse global audience. Not just restricted to painting, her prowess extends to comics, as well as ventures into fashion, bespoke merchandise, and artisanal art toys.

Speaking about her latest creations, d'Errico reflects, “My move away from urban life signaled a significant shift. I grappled with the loss of my freedoms during the pandemic, the passing of my beloved pet Loki, and some personal upheavals. These events shaped my outlook. My subsequent healing journey is best encapsulated as 'nurtured by nature'. The serene beauty of the Pacific Northwest helped me find my bearings."

She further elaborates, "Relocating to a community-driven setting was enlightening. It underscored the distance and constraints we impose upon ourselves when we detach from Mother Nature. My new series is an ode to the wonders of nature that I’m fortunate to witness every day. It’s a call to appreciate our shared home, to bond with it, safeguard it, and pass it on more cherished than we found it.”

d'Errico has been giving fans a glimpse of her upcoming exhibit on social platforms. One of her teasers showcases the creation of “My Lepidoptera Parade.” She comments, “It's a tribute to nature’s allure and the myriad hues it offers. The artwork began as a mere sketch and has been gradually animated with paint strokes.” There are also clips of her crafting “Freebird.” The masterpieces for the exhibit employ water-soluble oil paints on birch wood panels.
