COREY HELFORD GALLERY

October 7 – November 11, 2023

This upcoming Saturday, mark your calendars for an exciting artistic event as Corey Helford Gallery (CHG) in downtown Los Angeles introduces a mesmerizing collection by renowned Japanese artist Kazuki Takamatsu. Titled "Parallelization Era," this exhibition promises to be a captivating experience in the Main Gallery.

Kazuki Takamatsu's work delves into the realms of mortality and society through a haunting interplay of black and white imagery. What sets his art apart is a distinctive depth-mapping technique, painstakingly crafted and developed by the artist himself. This method seamlessly merges traditional artistic mediums like drawing, airbrushing, and gouache painting with the cutting-edge world of computer graphics.

As you step into the gallery, prepare to be transported into a world where life and death, past and present, collide in a thought-provoking symphony of visual storytelling. Takamatsu's mastery in combining these diverse artistic elements creates a unique viewing experience that challenges our perceptions and invites us to explore the intricate tapestry of the "Parallelization Era."

In recent years, I feel that we don’t for ourselves but rather we ask the internet all our questions. We’ve entered an age in which we can share answers that feel good to us with someone we don’t even know. It’s as if there are many alter egos of you all over the world and it’s not only for humans, it could also be AI. You will be given answers one after another, answers that you have never experienced, what you should do in the future, and even what you should buy. I feel a strange sense of wonder in this age where efficiency is so important that we no longer worry about a single answer and think deeply about it. Someone is a part of me, and I am a part of someone else.
