“PEERING THROUGH THE DARKNESS” LUKE CHUEH

On Saturday, August 26th, Corey Helford Gallery in the heart of downtown Los Angeles will present its upcoming solo exhibition, "Peering Through the Darkness," spotlighting the fresh creations of renowned LA artist Luke Chueh.

Chueh, a Chinese-American modern artist, is celebrated for his profound observations on contemporary society and human dynamics. With a unique fusion of pop art, minimalist, and surreal touches, he delves deep into the intricacies of human feelings, relationships, and self-awareness. Often, Chueh uses symbolic creatures like bears or rabbits in his artwork, symbolizing varied human states and sentiments. These depictions stretch across a spectrum from whimsical to somber, mirroring the myriad facets of human emotion.

Both eerie and comical, Chueh’s art lures viewers into introspection, pushing them to reflect on their personal journeys and the larger environment. He doesn't shy away from addressing potent themes, from isolation and mental health to life's very purpose. Through his craft, Chueh prompts us to ponder our role in the grand tapestry of existence, appreciating its splendor, sorrows, and idiosyncrasies.
