“THERAPY ROOM 2” HERA OF HERAKUT

On April 22nd, 2023, the Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, California will debut a solo exhibition titled "tHERApy room 2" by the artist Hera, who is one half of the renowned artistic duo HERAKUT. Hera, also known as Jasmin Siddiqui, is a multi-talented artist who blends her skills in graffiti art, illustration, poetry, and storytelling to create fluid figures using both elegant and chaotic lines and brushstrokes. Her artwork often reflects on the human condition and her own experiences growing up.

After spending 23 years working with spray paint, Hera recognizes the profound impact that the medium has had on her life, enabling her to develop her unique visual language. She continues to create pieces that feature big-eyed figures and convey messages of encouragement, hope, magic, and escapism, while also addressing her own inner child. Each artwork in the exhibition can be seen as a therapy session in which Hera plays the role of both therapist and patient, delving into her own identity as she explores the symbolic hats and masks that appear in her work.
